The kids get to wear their Christmas PJs, do some Christmas crafts and enjoy Christmas hot chocolates for the whole month of December! And the beauty of this is you still have 2 weeks to gather the bits together! Here are some ideas of what to include:
1. The Box
There are some lovely Christmas boxes around but a shoe box wrapped in wrapping paper will suffice. Perhaps raid the crafting stuff for some stickers and glitter?!
2. The Advent Calendar
The kids are getting one anyway so this is a good place to start!
3. Christmas Movie
Some fab Christmas film ideas are listed here. If you don’t have a suitable DVD up your sleeve, why not add in a cinema voucher or make your own voucher for a box office and book some quality time for later in the month?
4. Christmas Story
There is still time to pop to the library to take out a book….if you don’t want to buy one.
5. Hot Chocolate
Those chocolate stirrers are fab and the kids love them. Perhaps add some squirty cream and some marshmallows… You could include a new mug as well if you wish.
6. Some extra marshmallows
Pimp up the hot chocolate with some extra marshmallows!
7. Reindeer Food
As it’s a December box you could create a Reindeer food-making pack, include a little bag or some nice ribbon for them to hang it ready for Christmas Eve! It’s easy for the kids to make, you will need porridge oats and bird food. Then maybe add some leaves which they can be cut out into nice shapes to add some colour. Stay away from the glitter etc as it’s not animal and bird-friendly.
7. Gingerbread
Gingerbread is a Christmas essential (in our eyes anyway) and the kids have a full 24 days to enjoy this box so we have a few ideas for you here:
8. Pyjamas
Everyone loves new PJs at Christmas! Or maybe a snuggly onesie! With a December box the kids will be able to build their Christmas excitement by wearing their Christmas PJs throughout December – much better if you have kids who don’t want to wear Christmas PJs once January comes around.
9. Slippers
I’m a huge slipper fan, there is nothing worse than cold feet! The kids seem to love them too. Loads of cheap novelty ones in supermarkets, Boyes, Yorkshire Clothing etc.
10. Novelty toothbrush to encourage some teeth brushing over Christmas…
11. Christmas-themed colouring book & crayons.
The kids will enjoy this for hours when they have all of December to enjoy it.
12. Candy Cane
I’m not a fan myself but the kids love a candy cane!
12. Colour yourself Christmas Cards.
You can get some lovely Christmas cards for your kids to colour in, get them started early in December and you can send the masterpieces off to family & friends.
13. Christmas Craft bits
Grab some crafty bits from your local store and try one of these Christmas craft ideas.
Hope you all have a magical, fun-filled December!
