We all know how vitally important it is to read to your child when they are little. A good bed & book routine not only calms them and gives you the best chance of settling down for the night, but it’s also a really important time for you and your little one to bond and chill out together. Reading helps them expand their vocabulary and feeds their imaginative little minds.
As they grow and begin to learn how to read themselves, a whole new world exists in books. This is why here at Mumbler, we are thrilled that we have the opportunity to work with Nosy Crow. Nosy Crow is a multi-award-winning children’s publisher that produces child-focused, parent-friendly children’s books for ages 0-12.
“I’ve been really lucky with my children, they both love reading and take enormous joy from books. Little do they know their hour reading in bed to delay bedtime is only a good thing in my eyes! As an added bonus the youngest LOVES her big bro so all she wanted was to do since she learnt to read was be able to read his books! During the lockdown, not being able to visit a library, and having run out of her own books to read, she eagerly devoured big bros bookshelf much to his disgust! Fast forward to today and both having now read every book in the house, this term has been all about finding new books and series which he can read and then pass on to her in a few years. As a parent, I can see that my job over the next few years is to make sure that I keep their interest and love of reading by putting the right sort of books in their hands!”
Nosy Crow has so many amazing books to choose from, but for our Mumbler Summer 2021 reading list, we’ve picked a few of our favourites to tell you all about. There really is something for every age & interest- including a brilliant Olympics book, On Your Marks, Get Set, Gold which is so topical for this summer. It’s got loads of beautiful pictures of every sport in it, which will appeal to children, but each page is focused on a sport & there are interesting facts & information about each sport. It really is a book that will appeal to kids and adults alike!

“Those of you who follow us over on Instagram will already know we were lucky enough to be gifted this book by Nosy Crow.
WOW! My daughter is 7 1/2 and has loved having this read to her before bed. My only problem is she then reads ahead and I keep having to catch up before bedtime the next day to find out what has happened- There have not been many books that I have done this with! We cannot wait to finish it and find out if Faith finds the treasure…
Big bro is waiting (impatiently) for her to finish before he gets to read it. Who doesn’t love a new book.”
