Disclaimer – don’t start something you can’t keep up with!!
1. Make your own pizza & movie night
This is a firm fave in our house, the kids love making their pizzas, they get to choose what toppings they want and everyone is happy! Depending on how much time I have I might make the dough while the kids are at school but 90% of the time I shop buy. The Asda pre-rolled pizza dough is great & apparently, Morrisons do a whole make-your-own pizza set for about £5!
Our favourite topping choices are pepperoni, ham, mushrooms, sweetcorn and cheese. Never had a child not have an option to pick!
Let the kids go wild – we have had faces, rainbows, patterns and more!
Add some cut-up veggies and maybe an ice lolly for pudding and the kids are happy as larry!
2. Indoor Camping
Set up the tent in a bedroom or the front room & request the guests bring sleeping bags and pillows. Fire up the BBQ or firepit and let the kids toast marshmallows and make smores!
Tell campfire stories, sing songs and let them embrace the indoor camping life!
3. Den building
No tent? No problem – let the kids use sheets and pegs etc to create a den to sleep in instead! As kids we used to love sleeping in our den under the dining room table! Maybe make some hot chocolate with marshmallows!
4. Home Spa night
If, like mine, your daughter is obsessed with skincare & creating her own lotions and potions why not embrace it & have her friends over for a home spa night. Make oat facepacks, sugar lip scrubs and (yes apparently this is a thing!!) grated cucumber cotton pad eye treatments.
Get out the old footspa which has been gathering dust in the cupboard, have them all get into their pjs & dressing gowns, put on some spa music and let them sit back and relax! They could even paint each others nails – do you trust them not to make a mess??
5. Gaming night
I mean this is all my son wants to do anyway so I’m going with it! If you don’t have enough spare controllers (who does?) you could always request the guests bring one with them (assuming they are all gaming on the same console or computer!) You could even set up 2 TV’s next to each other & give it an arcade vibe – V-Rally anyone??
Get some snacks in & you won’t see them for dust – I can’t promise you won’t hear them though!!
