1. Christmas at Thackray: Crumbs and Crafts

It was the week after Christmas and across the workhouse, not a creature was stirring… well, apart from the mice.
Father Christmas has packed up his sleigh for another year, but he’s left leftovers from his festive treats all over our museum! Can you join our crew of Thackray felines and hunt out the crumbs before our resident rodents eat them all up?
Throughout the school holidays join us for a host of crafts and activities exploring all things festive food and celebration. Suitable for all the family and free with your museum ticket.
2. Harrogate Bounce
25,000sq feet of children’s indoor fun, a range of inflatables and games. Toddler area designed specifically for the younger children.
Open daily from 9:30am – 12:00pm, 12:00pm – 2:30pm and 2:30pm – 5:00pm. We’re open New Years Eve from 9:30am – 12:00pm and 12:00pm – 2:30pm, as well as New Years Day from 10:30am – 1:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:30pm.
Everyone on the ground will require a wristband to enter, simply buy online and show the volunteers your QR code to receive a wristband.

3. Harrogate Ice Rink

The highly-anticipated Harrogate Ice Rink returns to Crescent Gardens for the second year in a row; running alongside the Harrogate Christmas Fayre from 1st December and remaining open until 7th January 2024.
This festive favourite will be bigger and better than ever before, hosting not only a bigger ice rink, but an outdoor bar, a cosy sheltered tipi, funfair rides including a carousel and bungee trampolines, and a Yorkshire Wrap food stall – vegetarian and vegan options available.
Immerse yourself in the magic of Christmas with this family-friendly and affordable attraction coming to the centre of Harrogate from December to January.
Harrogate Ice Rink is open from 11am every day until 19:30 on weekdays and 20:45 on weekends. You can book a one-hour session for a reduced price of £10 per ticket (plus booking fee) this year, and each ticket purchased will also grant 50% off any hot drink at the bar on site; including mulled wine and hot chocolate.
Adults and children aged 4+ are welcome at Harrogate Ice Rink. Free skate hire is available on site and there are skate aids available on a first come first served basis, these are available for £5 per user.
During your visit to Crescent Gardens, be sure to visit the Harrogate Christmas Fayre, ride on the Candy Cane Express road train, or experience the open top bus, which stops at the Ice Rink too!

7. Stockeld Park

The Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park is truly the home of Christmas magic. What was once but a simple Christmas Tree shop has grown to become the most wonderful family Christmas experience. Join us for Christmas fun and visit Santa in his cosy Grotto, experience the Enchanted Forest come to life with the spectacular Winter Illuminations and enjoy our magical ice rink.
See the Enchanted Forest from a different perspective. Discover large themed outdoor playgrounds and visit the Playhive, our indoor world of adventure, it’s indoor play like never before!

Come to Fountains Abbey for a full festive day out with your family. Have a winter adventure through colourful abbey ruins and discover the water garden. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a unique place made of two moments in history. Where medieval strength blends with 18th century eccentricity to create a landscape full of secrets, curiosities and breathtaking views.
The Ruins of Fountains Abbey are one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. Explore vaulted ceilings, grand columns and an imposing tower.
The garden at Studley Royal is one of the best surviving examples of a Georgian water garden in England. The elegant ornamental lakes, canals, temples and cascades provide a succession of dramatic eye-catching vistas.
Studley Royal Deer Park is home to over 300 red, sika and fallow deer. The deer park also includes St Mary’s Church, one of the finest examples of high Victorian gothic revival architecture in England, designed by William Burges.
9. Ice Cube Christmas

Enjoy a magical experience with your little ones at Ice Cube @Christmas this festive season. The popular attraction which boasts a covered ice rink, festive street food as well as winter-themed rides and attractions, returns to Leeds City Centre
Ice Cube @Christmas is back this winter, bringing a joyful season of outdoor ice skating, festive feasting and family-fun experiences in the heart of the city centre. Taking over Millennium Square, Victoria Gardens and Cookridge Street from Friday 25 November until Saturday 31 December 2022, Leeds’ coolest wintertime attraction boasts a 400sqm covered ice rink, promising a fun-filled day out whatever the weather.
The popular Penguin Club for young families and one-to-one skating lessons for those looking to build confidence on the ice are available every weekend as well as dedicated accessible sessions on Thursday mornings.
After skating, cosy up in the brand-new Ski Bar, soak up the Viking hygge at Thor’s Tipi or head to the outdoor covered seating areas to relax and refuel with a selection of local and international street food and drink served from Alpine-inspired chalet-style huts. 10. Bolton Abbey ‘12 Days of Christmas’

Enjoy a walk through Strid Wood where clues connected to the popular ‘12 Days of Christmas’ carol will help you to solve the festive mystery.
The trail will begin at the Cavendish Shop and lead you up to the Strid.
Activity sheets will be issued from the car park kiosks on arrival.
The ‘12 Days of Christmas’ is included in the Estate car parking price.
Suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Dogs are welcome on a lead.
