- Parking: Designated disabled bays are available in every car park. The house car park provides level access to Temple Newsam House. Access from the other car parks to the house is by gradual uphill pathways.
- The House Wheelchair Access: Entry is gained at the front of the house through a wide door in place of an original bay window. Once inside the ground floor is fully accessible with lift access to the second floor. There is a mezzanine floor between the second & third floor which is not accessible but it consists of only 2 room so not much has to be missed. Lift access again to the third floor.
- The Farm Wheelchair Access: The Farm has an old cobbled floor which our electric wheelchair felt unsteady on. Some may fair better but we gave it a miss.
- The Cafe Wheelchair Access: The cafe is ground floor with wide doors and outdoor seating (weather permitting!) in a newer cobbled courtyard which our electric wheelchair coped well with.
- The Grounds Wheelchair Access: The walk around the gardens and grounds are all well paved and were easily managed with our electric wheelchair and would equally have been fine in a push or manual chair.
- Accessible Toilets: Accessible toilets are available in the house, stables courtyard and in a fully accessible Changing Places facility next to the accessible playground. Facilities in the changing places toilets include an emergency alarm, a fire alarm with a flashing light, rise and fall sink, bed and hoist. The Changing Places toilets and stables courtyard toilet are RADAR key operated.
Entry to Temple Newsam Estate is free of charge for carers.
Tickets are valid for the entire day on which they are purchased.
