Would you like a chance to meet new people whilst also making a huge difference? Are you someone who has experienced domestic abuse or someone who can empathise?
We are looking for a positive, outgoing and empathetic person to join our volunteer team. The role involves facilitating a regular walking group.This includes welcoming attendees, facilitating a walk and also a refreshment stop. The role involves checking in on our clients mental and emotional health and giving our clients a chance to talk while getting some light exercise. You may wish to have a focus during the walk such as self love, mindfulness etc. This role requires an open and non judgemental approach with a positive outlook, to build trust and ensure the provision of a safe and supportive environment. As such we are looking for someone with good interpersonal skills, a forward thinker with similar experience of either attending a similar group or enjoying the outdoors.
While monthly volunteer supervision will be provided by a trauma-informed coach we encourage those applying to have a strong awareness of their boundaries in order to protect their own mental health.
