Ilkley Tree Trails have been inspired by the Land and Nature group of Climate Action Ilkley. The aim is to encourage people to take an interest in the natural environment around them.
They are presented in 12-page A4 booklets. While lockdown continues the only way of distributing them is via the internet. They work well on a mobile phone or tablet but we suggest you print a copy of the map to carry with you. It’s the last page of the booklet but is also available as a single separate page to make it easy to download and print.
There are currently two trails, Trees in Winter and Introduction to Trees, and you can view them via the links below. Introduction to Trees is designed to be followed when the trees are in leaf whilst Trees in Winter is for when the leaves have fallen and the twigs are bare
The trail starts at the Manor House and visits 18 trees selected from the first 26 trees in the Introduction to Trees booklet. They have been selected because they have features easy to see in winter. The winter trail takes around 50 minutes.
A map marking the location of each tree is on the back page of this booklet. Each tree keeps its original number.
