With the continuing relaxation of the Coronavirus restrictions, Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust is pleased to announce that the Annual Duck Race has been scheduled for Sunday, 8th August at 2 pm on the Riverside, east of Burley. This will be followed by ‘Teas on the Green’ on the Village Green at 3 pm, provided by Burley Scouts and Guides.
Duck Tickets are priced at £1 each and will be on sale outside the Co-op on Saturday mornings, as well as through the Scouts and Guides organisation. There are cash prizes for the first 5 ducks home, with a £100 first prize. The Duck Race is a big fundraiser for both the Community Trust and the Scouts and Guides so please support this event.
The best access route to the Duck Race on the day is via Corn Mill Lane down the side of the old mill pond, by the Malt Shovel. We are hoping to have police assistance on the day but please take extra special care when crossing the A65
NB. Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust would like to remind all those attending the Duck Race that responsibility for all children and dogs rests with their parent/guardians and owners at all times – before, during and after the event, including the road crossings.
