Bradford Libraries Easter Coding Workshops

April 10, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Easter Coding Workshops

Get cracking this Easter with Explore Learning’s special coding workshops for library members.
Explore Learning are offering online coding workshops during the Easter holidays for children from 7 to 13 years-old.

The workshops allow children to enter into the world of coding with a maths twist! We will delve into the history of coding, from 100BC to 1945 and learn about the historical figures that helped develop coding into what you see today!

For years 3 and 4, join us on 10th April at 10am to learn about Roman Emperor Julius Caesar and his work to create Caesar’s shift, the encryption of secret Roman messages. We will look at the processes of encryption and decryption, applying number and geometry knowledge to solve fun coding questions!

For years 5-6 and 7-8, join us on 10th April at 2pm and 7th April at 1pm to learn about the mathematician Alan Turing and his role in breaking the code that ended WW2. We will find out how the famous enigma machine worked as well as decrypting and encrypting some codes of our own. Let’s put that number and geometry knowledge to the test!

We are very excited for you to be joining us on our coding journey!

Places are limited and booking is essential.
