Join Woodland Trust on the Big Bird Count at Skipton Castle Woods whether you are a regular visitor or new to the Woods come along and help us identify and monitor the many bird species enjoyed in the Ancient Woodland.
Open to both beginners and experienced birdwatchers alike your contribution is most welcome. Bring along your binoculars ( we have a limited number binoculars available for loan on a first come first served basis ) Four bird monitoring stations will be located in the woods along with informative Bird ID charts for reference. The Woodland Trust Team will be on hand alongside the local Bird watching group to answer any questions and collect the information recorded.
Drop-in any time between 7 am and 7 pm on the hour, for an hour and enjoy the birdlife in Skipton Castle Woods and help us monitor the bird population including many species on the UK red list.
Regular sightings in the woodland include Kingfishers and Dippers, the Grey Wagtail and Gold Crest.
