Each day of the week Abbey House Museum will be sharing content for families via their Facebook Page.

Mondays are all about music, taking inspiration from our exhibition Sounds of Our City that unfortunately people can’t see at the moment we thought we would bring bits of the exhibition to Facebook! We will be posting about our star objects from the exhibition including our glass piano, special characters such as Padtoeski, the performers who played 3 instruments at once including the piano with his feet! And songs from our jukebox.

Tuesdays are for toys, we will be posting videos about old and new toys (the first one went up yesterday). Putting up pictures, asking for drawings and poems inspired by the toys.

Wednesdays are all about questions, we will be asking families to send us history homework questions and we will be posting mystery objects.

Thursdays are throwback Thursdays posting old pictures from how the museum used to look.

The front door is locked, but our online doors are open and over the next few months Harewood House Trust is sharing an engaging programme of daily changing online content.

Bringing a bit of love to you..

Harewood is a charity, and as such everything we do here is for the benefit and enrichment of the public. We want to share the collections, the stories, the landscape of this museum-accredited House; plus its 50-year-old Bird Garden, licensed zoo, and 120 acres of Grade I listed gardens and grounds, even when we are closed.

We feel it’s our mission to enrich, enlighten, engage and entertain you.

From hands-on tips from the Learn team and Head Gardener, to behind the scenes with the curators and collections team, or just a moment of wellbeing, the content will be shared on the Harewood blog, on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook @harewoodhouse and on the YouTube channel.

Until the moment we can welcome visitors back to Harewood, enjoy a little bit of ‘Harewood at Home’.  See the daily timetable of activities below.

The Royal Armouries Museum has launched a new online resource to support parents and teachers as they battle to keep children engaged in learning at home.

Our Learning Team brings history to life for thousands of school pupils every academic year at our museums, and no global pandemic is going to stop them in their quest to educate and entertain.

Our valiant band of educators will bring history to life at home through interactive videos and downloadable resources, available through a new digital Home Learning Hub. Part of Royal Armouries From Home, a wider series of online activities, including behind the scenes stories, expert insights and treasures from the collection in close up, our education sessions bring the best of our schools workshops into the home.

A new lesson will be posted twice a week, on Sundays and Wednesdays, on both Facebook and YouTube. So far our home learners have encountered Viking warriors, Tudor knights, Romans soldiers and Greek heroes, with more exciting topics on the way – all supported by activity-packed, downloadable worksheets. royalarmouries.org/royal-armouries-from-home/

Follow on social media channels for regular videos, quizzes, activities and more!
