Children will be involved with helping the elves prepare for Christmas and see if they have what it takes to become a real elf! There will be presents to be wrapped, sleighs to be stacked and more fun and games with the elves, help feed the real reindeer and finishing with a Christmas song a long.

A magical sleigh ride for just your family to see Santa and his elves in the woodland grotto. Sit by the fire and tell Santa your Christmas wishes. This is a traditional and personal visit with each paying child receiving a gift from Santa. After visiting Santa you will take a ride back on the sleigh where you will then be able to meet reindeers and see lots more animals in the farm yard

A 30 min interactive show in the theatre suitable for children 3- 7 years. It’s almost time for the animals to hibernate but Dormouse isn’t too keen. He’s never experienced this time of year before and is just too curious to go to sleep. Hedgehog must help his young friend understand the season and find just the right place to rest, but will he do so before Old Man Winter arrives? (The seasonal show will also be available from 27th Dec – 6th Jan apart from New Years Day)

Bring the whole family along to the outdoor promenade nativity play in the ruins of Bolton Priory. Starring farm animals and young members of the community, it promises to be a memorable, festive experience.
Performances will last approximately one hour. The performance will move around the priory ruins. Warm clothing and suitable, sturdy footwear is advisable. There will be opportunities to meet the animals after each show.
Refreshments will be on sale after each performance in the West Tower.

A family-friendly exhibition exploring modelling and why models are created. The exhibition will look at a variety of models such as engineering models, apprentice models, children’s educational and instructional toys, salesmen’s models, planes, trains and automobiles.
Models are made and used for many reasons; for work and as a hobby or for social development. A model is a representation of an idea or an object. Building models helps people understand how things work; they can be used to educate, to develop skills or to show how skilled you are.
Entry to the museum is free. Donation boxes can be found around the site and donations are always very gratefully received.
