Remembrance Parades & Services in Wharfedale & Craven
Remembrance services are being held across Wharfedale & Craven on Sunday, 10 November, to commemorate those who lost their lives or were injured in conflicts around the world.
10.30 am Service at St Peter’s Church, Church Street, Addingham. 11.45 am Parade from St Peter’s Church to the War Memorial, Main Street (by Memorial Hall). Wreath laying ceremony
The parade begins at 10.45 am starting from the Robert Craven Village Hall to the Memorial opposite the Methodist Church. The event at the memorial will last around 30 minutes and then there is a family service at The Methodist Church.
9.45 am Service at St Mary’s Church, Corn Mill Lane Burley-in-Wharfedale. 11 am Act of Remembrance and laying of wreaths at the Cenotaph.
2.40 pm Assemble at Whitton Croft Road (directly behind the Town Hall). 2.50 pm Parade marches left onto Chantry Drive, left onto Station Road and straight onto The Grove. 3 pm Remembrance service and wreath-laying ceremony in the Memorial Gardens.
Service of Remembrance to be held at the Memorials outside Kirklands Community Centre. Assemble for service lead by local ministers at 10.30 am. Service will commence at 10.45 am. Refreshments in Community Centre following service.
Will start at 2.30 pm, Otley Methodist Church, Boroughgate. The parade will start at 2.00 pm from Station Road, forming at the bottom of Station Road at 13:45. The route will be along Kirkgate, turning right onto Boroughgate for the Church Service at the Methodist Church commencing at 2:30 pm.
St Peter’s Church Town St, Rawdon. Remembrance Day Service. With Holy Communion and Uniformed Parade. Minute’s silence at 11th hour, Laying of Wreaths at Memorial in Parish Church. Other art and exhibitions for remembrance in Church. War Graves and Memorial information of the soldiers of Rawdon who gave their lives..
10.30 am Parade assembles at Wesley Place. 10.45 am Parade departs for Cenotaph. 11 am Service and wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph, Memorial Gardens, Kirkgate
10 am Joint Service of Remembrance at St Stephen’s Church, St Stephen’s Road, Steeton. 10.50 am Wreath laying ceremony at Steeton War Memorial, followed by two minutes’ silence
St John’s Church Remembrance Sunday Service, with Traditional & Modern Music, Crèche & Children’s Groups. Followed by refreshments. From 10.30 am – 12 noon.
