Cash for Kids exists to help local families who need it the most in our communities. Those who are living in or on the brink of poverty will be feeling the impact of Coronavirus more keenly. They need our help!
WHAT IS THE CASH FOR KIDS APPEAL?
An urgent appeal for donations, to build a fund to support local families coping with the effects of Coronavirus.
Radio Aire has the opportunity to connect with our audiences and our local communities, to really make a difference to those who are struggling at this difficult time.
The Cash for Kids Appeal fund will enable us to provide grants to families with children, helping them with the basic essentials such as food and heating.
School teachers, health professionals, social workers and small charitable groups will be able to apply for funds on behalf of the families they support – validating the need and distributing the funds.
WHY ARE FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN STRUGGLING NOW?
Many families were already living in or on the brink of poverty before the outbreak of Coronavirus, and this will be amplified by;
Those on low incomes or zero hour contracts face a reduction in work availability, placing huge pressure on their personal finances.
Businesses are facing closure either temporarily or permanently, putting many workers at risk of not being able to pay the bills at home.
Many families rely on free school meals, and if schools close we know families will struggle to feed their children without support.
WHAT ARE WE ASKING PEOPLE TO DO?
One. Simple. Message. We’re asking our audiences to make a donation to Cash for Kids.
However much they can afford and in whatever way they want to donate – we guarantee that 100% of the donation made to the Cash for Kids Appeal will go to help families with children that need it most.
Donations can made by text or online (via our websites or on Facebook).
WHEN IS THE APPEAL TAKING PLACE?
On-air from Monday 23rd March through until Wednesday 8th April.
