With flat paths, all the way around the Tarn, it is ideal for scooters, prams and wheelchairs. There are ducks galore, a new play park & a regular ice cream van, Yeadon Tarn is a great cheap day out! For older children, there is also a skate park.
Many birds live on the river & weir area so bring your food to feed the ducks and swans. With amazing riverside walks this park is very pretty. The gardens look great all year round and they are well maintained. With a large playground and skate park for children, there is lots to do for both young and old.
Riverside Gardens Park, Ilkley
A great location by the river is so perfect for feeding the ducks! A large fenced park with lots of play equipment, a sandpit and large grassy areas it’s a lovely place for a picnic or a stroll!
Golden Acre Park has a lovely walk around the lake with plenty of ducks to feed. With a newly refurbished cafe, a regular ice cream van and plenty of space for a picnic you can spend the day! Alternatively, follow the path to the right before the tunnel entrance for a lovely walk to Paul’s Pond and even more ducks and a stream to paddle in!
Skipton Canal Basin
In the heart of the town, swans and ducks are regulars around the water’s edge and you may even catch a glimpse of a heron! There are some benches dotted along the canal so bring a pack up and sit and watch the boats go by.
