Have a walk or a bike ride… Make it more exciting with nature bingo, a scavenger hunt or doing some leaf rubbings – Lots of free ideas available with a quick internet search.

Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway have their Winter timetable running. A steam engine pulling trains with departures from Embsay at 10.30, 12.00, 13.30 & 15.00, and from Bolton Abbey at 11.15, 12.45, 14.15 & 15.45 (The 15.45 does not return).

Thorp Perrow Arboretum Wildlife Park.-Thorp Perrow offers the perfect place for a winter’s walk through the trees in the Arboretum and has fun in the adventure play area. Open New Year’s Day 10 am to 4 pm. However, the Bird of Prey & Mammal Centre will be closed. More details here.
