COVID-19 UPDATE
Reopening 4th July 2020.
All visitors to Billy Bob’s Skipton will be required to make an advance booking. We will use our online restaurant booking system to encourage an even and steady flow of diners throughout the day.
Just as with any other restaurant, we cannot reserve seats for people just having a coffee or an ice cream and a table reservation is based on all members of the group enjoying a main meal from our menu (this includes Sundaes or our Waffle/Pancake Specials).
Our outside dining tables will also be subject to pre-bookings only. This will prevent wasted journeys on your part, to potentially find we are already at capacity.
Of course we appreciate that we are at the hands of the British weather and so please bear this in mind whilst making your booking.
To book an outside table please call our offices – 01756 711826
INDOOR RESTAURANT BOOKING
All parties and tables must be 8 guests or less (including highchairs) and, in compliance with government guidance, should be limited to members of any two households.
Bookings can be made in advance through our online system at our website, or by telephone 01756 711826.
All guests, whether dining indoors or out will need to be pre-booked and will be seated by our host.
We will operate a one-way system for guests from our car park facility along the decking through to the host at the front door.
If the host is unable to seat your party immediately, you will be asked to wait in the designated zone on the covered balcony outside the ‘Gas Station’. This area will be marked with signage to encourage and remind social distancing between family groups.
We have rapidly scaled our digital capabilities, including adding an app from which you can place orders from your phone/mobile device. Sadly, as you might have come to know, we are still awaiting any form of reliable internet here in our rural setting, so we ask that you download our app prior to visiting by visiting your app provider.

The Roebuck, still known by some locally as ‘The Spite’, was our choice for a relaxed family lunch on a sunny Friday afternoon. On arrival it was clear that we didn’t need to worry about somewhere to park as there was ample space. You can book to sit inside but we chose to sit outside (which cannot be booked in advance). There is plenty of seating on their terrace area with additional seating and tables on a grassed area which is ideal for young children.
We chose from the Earl of Sandwich menu you but could also pick from the light lunch and main menus with additional specials. We ordered drinks from the bar inside and were told a waiter would take our order at our table. I was torn between the North Atlantic Prawns & Pink Gin Marie Rose sauce or Hot Oak Roast Salmon Salad. All sandwiches were served with chunky chips, salad and coleslaw which swayed my decision! The Roebuck offered a good selection of children’s hot meals but with it being such a hot day Miss Mini Mumbler wanted to be awkward and choose off-menu. The waiter was happy to accommodate her ham sandwich and took our order within 20 minutes of arriving.
The food arrived after 15 minutes and looked as appetising as it sounded! The salad was fresh, the prawns were big and the sauce was delish! We also ordered Honey Roast Ham Ciabatta with Tomato Chutney which went down equally well.
Having visited before we knew the sweet menu was hard to resist and so didn’t try! I had a Chocolate pot which arrived with cream and frozen summer berries – perfect on a hot day. A child’s ice cream, served with a chocolate straw, lasted all of 2 minutes. The highlight though was the Bakewell with Cherry Ripple Ice cream. For too much to eat on a lunch time but that didn’t stop us….
A big part of us choosing The Roebuck was the stunning Views of the Wharfe-Valley which are amazing at the best of times but even better in the sunshine.
The restaurant and terrace has Pram and Wheelchair access and there are plenty of highchairs available for the Mini Mumblers. Prices were as you would expect for the portion size, setting and quality of food, £40 for 3 of us including drinks.
The staff were polite and helpful throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the views and will definitely be going again!
