La Leche League is an international charity, founded to give information and encouragement, mainly through personal help to all mothers who want to breastfeed their babies. La Leche League Leaders are mothers who have breastfed their own babies and enjoy helping other mothers to do so. They are accredited by La Leche League International, the world’s authority on breastfeeding.
They provide information and support by phone and email plus lead discussion meetings for mothers. Meetings in Ilkley, Shipley & Bradford. (

La Leche League is for you if …
• You are expecting a baby and want to know more about how to breastfeed
• You are already breastfeeding and want help with particular challenges
• You need information on starting solids and/or weaning
• You want to meet other breastfeeding mums and share experiences La Leche League meetings Get together with other breastfeeding mothers, their babies and children and be supported in your decision to breastfeed. Use the library of books and leaflets on breastfeeding and parenting. Help other mothers by sharing your experiences. We aim to meet the needs of all mothers attending our meetings. Many areas relating to breastfeeding are discussed including:
• Why breastfeeding is good for mother and baby
• Preparation and expectations
• Getting breastfeeding off to a good start
• Overcoming/avoiding challenges and difficulties
• Family life with a baby
• Night-time parenting
• Infant sleep
• Returning to work
• Nutrition and weaning
• You are interested in reading more about breastfeeding, birth and parenting
