Playgroups and Pre-School classes
Wharfedale & Craven and the surrounding areas are a fantastic place for bringing up children and there is plenty going on children.
Below is a list of all the local playgroups and drop in clinics throughout the week and also details of all the children’s activities classes available across our area. Please contact the organisers directly if you would like to find out further information or to confirm class times or costs.
If you know of any other classes or groups which are not already listed, then please contact us here. Basic listings are free. ’Featured’ listings are £10 per month. For our full advertising rates then please click here.
Pyjama Drama is a drama & imaginative play programme for children up to 7 years that aims to develop key skills by igniting children’s imaginations. In our themed classes we sing songs, play active games & go on imaginary adventures.
Our Dewdrops classes (6-24-months) include rhymes & puppet stories, whilst our older children will act out stories & adventures guided by me but with a lot of their own input. Who wants to build a rocket out of chocolate & sticks to fly to the moon? What about giving medicine to a poorly frog in the jungle? Or taking tea with the queen in a palace guarded by a dragon? And you might even get to take an imaginary spider home with you!
For our term time classes, we ask you to come for a 3 Week Trial – your child gets to know the structure of the class & the other children. You will see their confidence, communication & input develop. After that, you can sign up on a termly basis. Class numbers are limited to 12 participating children.
Bookable one-off holiday/weekend sessions also run – just email me if you’d like to be notified of these.

Your little one’s confidence, creativity and co-ordination will flourish with our fun, quality music sessions.
“The best music class in town” as quoted by our mums! Our classes will help to nurture and enhance EVERY child’s development and innate musical ability.
At a critical time in your child’s formative years, Rhythm Time offers a wide variety of activities. These activities help brain development, balance, concentration, listening skills and language which in turn help with reading, writing, maths, co-ordination and socialising.
Rhythm Time also helps stimulate your child’s imagination and also develops specific musical concepts such as rhythm, pitch and listening. It’s the perfect foundation for school and future music making!
Rhythm Time’s baby classes and Young Baby Courses will help the development of your baby from birth+.
Our Young Baby Courses have been created specifically for very young babies from birth to 6 months. These focus on developmental and multi-sensory activities specifically designed for very young babies and their early development.
We are founding members of the Children’s Activities Association which means that you can be confident that our classes are some of the best available for parents and carers.

Fun, structured play sessions take children on a journey of sporting imagination with engaging and energetic coaches supporting them every step of the way whilst teaching how to catch, pass, kick, run with the ball and play as part of a team. Deliver a specifically designed programme for each age group with energy, enthusiasm and excitement.
“Be prepared to run across the jungle, wade through the quicksand or sprint through Rugbytots Valley avoiding all the smoking boulders.”
Age 2 – 3.5: Youngest classes require full parent participation and offer a fantastic opportunity to spend quality time with your child whilst they learn new skills, meet new friends and have an exciting introduction to Rugby.
Age 3.5 – 5: These classes do not require full parent participation. Your Rugbytot will be part of a dynamic session that will develop their social and physical skills in a positive environment.
Age 5 -7: Older age group classes really start to prepare children for life after Rugbytots. The same structure is followed but these sessions involve advanced team games and ensure that the basic skills of rugby are coached in the right way by maintaining small class numbers.

Baby signing is a fantastic skill to learn with your little one, enabling you to communicate with each other from an early age and encourage their social development.
Our great fun, music-based classes support your family, as you discover the benefits for yourself!
Sing and Sign Babes is a gentle 5-week music and sensory course with an emphasis on communication. Suitable from birth to 6 months. This lovely class explores eye contact, gesture, and anticipation, together with lots of cuddles, tickles and some simple signs. All building the framework for communication, brought to you using our magic ingredient – music!
The Stage 1 course introduces 6-14-month-olds, and their families, to the wonders of baby signing. Over 100 signs are covered in the 10-week course, relating to daily routines (like meal times, getting changed, bedtime etc), animals, vehicles and lots more.
The Stage 2 course gives 14-30-month-old, and their families, the opportunity to enjoy more complex topics, with more physical exertion! More animals to encounter, colours to explore, and lots of weather conditions to experience over the 10 weeks! As children develop speech, having the support of a physical gesture alongside emerging words, makes it much less frustrating for everyone!
