Birchfield farm is a picturesque working farm nestled in the valley of Nidderdale, North Yorkshire in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It is home to our herd of Jersey cows whose rich milk & cream is used to make our delicious homemade Ice cream.
If you visit the farm you will also see our pedigree herd of Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and British Saddleback pigs.
Birchfield farm is a mixed farm with dairy, pigs and sheep which you can see grazing in the fields.
As well as animals our land is used to grow strawberries, maize, pumpkins, sprouts and sweetcorn.

A real working farm which allows people through the farm gate to learn about all things farming and countryside.
Although the farm has only been open to visitors a short while it’s not a new venture for the farming couple behind it; it’s an extension of their commitment to connecting farming and education.
On-site we offer spacious indoor and outdoor play areas, a café serving home cooked food and delicious cakes, outdoor viewing areas to see the animals and an indoor petting barn with a large variety of friendly animals.
We are open Wednesday to Sunday term time in accordance with NYCC dates and 7 days during the school holidays.
We offer term time weekly “Little Farmer” Sessions on Wednesdays and Thursday mornings from 10.30am -12.30pm designed for toddlers, allowing them to meet the animals, do a craft, have story time, snack and more.
We have themed fun educational activities each half term. This can be anything from sowing and growing your own fruit and flowers to wild bird feed making.
It’s always worth checking our Facebook page for up to date information.

Open from 10am. Check website for daily closing times as they vary off season. Check website for current ticket prices. As well as the theme park there is a zoo although I understand the park is generally better suited to older children as there are only limited rides for young children.

Hesketh Farm Park is set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, just 1 mile from the picturesque village of Bolton Abbey and 5 miles from the market town of Skipton. There’s loads to do, including feeding and stroking the animals, having fun inside – maybe in the giant sandpit or playing hide and seek with your friends in the straw maze. The Farm Park is idyllic, with around 10 acres of greenery overlooking the Yorkshire hills and the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam train whistling by in the valley below. Hesketh Farm is still a working farm with over 1,000 livestock including cattle, sheep and pigs. Today it is run by Chris and his wife Sue who are the fourth generation to farm here. As Dales’ weather can be un-predictable they have a large cosy, undercover barn with an efficient heating system so that your day will be still fun-packed even if it’s grim outside. If you’re feeling peckish there is a small café from which you can enjoy a delightful homemade snack.

A great little trip out with lots of animals available to see & feed. With bagged up animal food available from the shop the animals come to you knowing they are in for a good feed! With some lovely treats, meats and pies available from the Farm shop. There is an indoor play area for the under 7s for just £1 each and a good coffee machine for Mum & Dad.
