Berts Barrows, Leeds
Bert’s Barrow is a small family run farm in Hillam, selling fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs and local produce. They have a lovely courtyard area with tables where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or ice cream. There are pedal tractors to keep the kids entertained as well as goats, chickens and horses to see.
Pick your own strawberries from June to August. Open every day from 10 am.
Birchfield farm is a picturesque working farm nestled in the valley of Nidderdale, North Yorkshire in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is home to a herd of Jersey cows whose rich milk & cream is used to make our delicious homemade Ice cream which you can enjoy in the ice cream parlour or onsite tearooms. If you visit the farm you will also see our pedigree herd of Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs and British Saddleback pigs.
As well as animals their land is used to grow strawberries, maize, pumpkins, sprouts and sweetcorn.

Farmer Copleys began 15 years ago as a small farm shop with just one butcher alongside owners Robert & Heather. It has since expanded three times and they now pride ourselves on having one of the best meat counters in the UK, a lovely Deli with fantastic cheese, olives, and beautiful homemade bakery products. Alongside the farm shop is the Moo Cafe with good offerings including recently gelato ice cream, the Corn Maze, jumping pillow and barrel rides.
Gledstone Gardens Retail Plant Nursery, East Marton
Gledstone Gardens is a family run retail plant nursery set in a walled garden in a beautiful rural location. During late June and throughout July you may wish to visit the South terrace of Gledstone Gardens to pick some strawberries.
The first thing that will strike you is that the strawberries are not grown on the ground but on ‘table tops’, which means no back bending, stained knees, slugs on your fruit. Just beautiful fresh fruit at waist height.

This pick your own concentrates on strawberries and raspberries, with a number of varieties of each to enable as long a picking season as possible for our customers. Generally, picking starts in early June and finishes in early August, but is weather dependent.
