Otley visitors and residents are to get a Christmas shopping boost again this year thanks to festive free parking on selected dates throughout the holiday season.
The free parking scheme, now in its fifth year, brings a boost to Otley as the festive season kicks in. Shoppers can take advantage of the historic town’s many independent stores. The move is intended to encourage shoppers to buy their gifts locally and so give the town’s traders a much-needed boost following a tough year.
Free parking is in place on selected dates.
Leeds City Councillor Colin Campbell (Lib Dem, Otley & Yeadon), who was instrumental in helping arrange the scheme, said:
“Despite the challenges brought on by the pandemic Otley’s shopping areas remain a vibrant place for people to visit at any time, but especially over the holiday period.
We are pleased to announce the continuation of festive free parking to help alleviate people’s load a little at the end of what has been a difficult year for everyone. Leeds City Council’s continued support of the scheme is much appreciated.”
The free parking will be available at the Beech Hill, Courthouse Street and North Parade car parks on the following Saturdays during the run-up to Christmas: November 28, December 5, 12 and 19.
