Flutterbabies are a local independent company who offer great value lessons and are continually updating their techniques and lessons with the latest research. All instructors are highly trained and extremely passionate about their teaching, and above all are all mums too so understand any tantrums and meltdowns in the pool. Their classes are very relaxed and are baby led – they don’t force your baby under water, it is always their decision and the classes work at a pace to suit both you and your baby. They are also a sensory aware swim school providing children with a mix of sensory exploration and early developmental opportunities.
When your baby is small they teach you how to support your baby in the water, how to swim with them and also impart gentle progressive methods towards unaided swimming. They also have a makeup policy if you are unable to attend your regular class.

Flutterbabies have over 100 5* reviews on Facebook. Here’s a recent one from Gemma:
“Yesterday we had our last class as I am nearing my due date with baby no 2! My little boy has been swimming with Flutterbabies since he was 9 months old..
In these past 18 months Aidan has developed so much confidence not only in the water but with his teacher too. He loves Francesca, her warm demeanour and likes to show off his skills to her. He has mastered jumping in and swimming with a single noodle under one arm. He can climb out of the pool independently and happily holds onto the side.
The classes are very baby/toddler led which allows the little ones to choose to what extent they will carry out an exercise. This seems to make them excited to push themselves week by week, feeling no pressure.
With a relaxed atmosphere, games which involve toys in the pool allow them to unknowingly practice certain skills and the familiar song at the beginning and end of each class has led to endless renditions at home!
Swimming is definitely Aidan’s absolute favourite now and he is giddy as soon as he arrives in the car park. This is definitely down to the teaching/encouragement from Francesca and structure of the classes.
I would highly recommend Flutterbabies for a positive introduction (and beyond) to swimming. Thanks for making our time so special”
