Otley Cycle Race 2018

The Otley Town Centre Races remain the most prestigious criteriums in the British racing calendar, with past winners including Mark Cavendish, Jeremy Hunt, Adam Blythe, Jonny Clay and Chris Walker.
Now in its 33rd year, the race in 2018 is set to carry on the long tradition of world-class racing in Otley for both men and women.

Here’s tomorrow’s timetable:

17:15: Roads close

18:00: Youth Race U16 Boys

18:01: Youth Race U16 Girls

18:45: Women’s GP 19:30: Chevin Cycles Classic

20:15: Elite rider warm up

20:30: Otley GP 21:40: Prize presentation

ROAD CLOSURES:

A number of routes in and around the town centre will be closed between 5.15 pm and 11 pm on Wednesday, July 4 to allow the annual sporting event to take place.

Bondgate, Burras Lane, Birdcage Walk and Gay Lane will be closed in their entirety.

Sections of other roads, meanwhile, will also be shut. They are:

*West Chevin Road – between Burras Lane and Birdcage Walk

*East Chevin Road – between Leeds Road and Silver Mill Hill

*Leeds Road – between Gay Lane and the A660

*Cambridge Street – between Gay Lane and Orchard Street

*Crossgate – between Bondgate and Nelson Street

*Kirkgate – between Bondgate and Market Place.

Other restrictions will also be in place on the day including a ban on waiting – from 6 am to 11.59 pm – on Bondgate, Gay Lane, Burras Lane, Walkergate and the stretch of Station Road from Bondgate to just south of Burras Lane.
