Hey Diddle Diddle Trail at Bolton Abbey

February 10, 2018 - February 18, 2018

Hey Diddle Diddle
Where did the dish and spoon run away to?

10th to 18th February 2018

Follow the green trail from the Cavendish Shop and solve the mystery of the dish and the spoon and discover why it is thought that the popular nursery rhyme ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’ originated at Bolton Abbey. Legend has it that Prior Moone was “diddled” over the sale of a cow by the Hey family, and the dogs either side of the West Tower, built by Prior Moone, are laughing because of this.
