Get outside and into nature whilst playing out at Judy woods with The Forgotten Forest- Forest School and Outdoor Play Provision.
This session we will be reading the wonderful story Sugarlump and the Unicorn by Julia Donaldson.
There will be a story adventure, nature play, activities and crafts followed by hot chocolate and marshmallows made on the fire.
Some of the opportunities that will be available are- tree and log climbing, den building using sticks, bug hunting, playing in the mud kitchen, small world play, tree swing, hammocks and story-related crafts.
This session will run in all weathers but high winds so if it’s raining wear your coat and wellies.
Ideal for walking (18 months-ish) to about 10 years old and their grown-ups.
The site is suitable for all terrain prams. There are good paths to the site but the site itself can be bumpy and muddy.
£10 for the first adult and child. Extra adults and children are £5 each
Under ones are free.
We will all meet at the kissing gate at the start time and walk down together. From here we will have quick introductions, a brief safety talk and discuss looking after Judy Woods whilst playing. I will then read the story whilst we walk around and do some activities based from the book. After this we will have a craft, and forest school free fun followed by hot chocolate and toasting marshmallows.
There will be an outdoor camping toilet in a tent and hand washing facilities provided.
We operate a leave no trace policy – which means we leave the area clean to avoid damage to the site, plants, insects and animals.
Booking is essential.
