Bradford Libraries Story-time and crafts to celebrate Peter Rabbit™: Mischief and Mayhem Exhibition

Bradford Libraries will be holding story-time sessions and craft activities to join in the fun of the new Peter Rabbit™: Mischief and Mayhem Exhibition which is opening at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery on Saturday 18 May.

Children will be able to listen to stories written by the world famous and much-loved author Beatrix Potter between Monday 20 May and Friday 24 May at libraries across the Bradford district.

Those coming to the events at the libraries will be entered into a draw to win family tickets to the exhibition.

 

***The exhibition, featuring rarely seen original illustrations and early manuscripts by Beatrix Potter from The Tale of Peter Rabbit, opens at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery in Bradford on Saturday 18 May and will be on at the Bradford Council gallery until Sunday 8 September.

The exhibition looks at Peter Rabbit across the ages and includes original artworks, first editions and early Peter Rabbit merchandise. Exclusive to the exhibition in Bradford will be the showing of a very early illustration from 1892.

The exhibition has been developed in partnership with Penguin Ventures, on behalf of Frederick Warne & Co. Ltd (Beatrix Potter’s original publisher) and The River and Rowing Museum and have been supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

There will be other activities throughout the summer at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery and in Bradford city centre to celebrate the exhibition.

There is a small entry charge of £3 per person for the exhibition, free for under 2’s. Schools and groups of over eight will need to pre-book, with entry at £2.50 per person with teachers free.
