Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book

Tue 13 – Sun 18 Aug, Various Times, Main Auditorium, Carriageworks Theatre
Age Guidance: 3-8

Based on the original book Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler.

Charlie loves reading. Especially books about pirates. But his sister hates it – it’s boring! Can Charlie convince her that reading is fun? Perhaps if she read a book about a pirate, who is reading a book about Goldilocks, who is reading a book about a knight…
Come and delve into a range of books with Charlie Cook, brought to life with puppetry and enchanting songs, and perhaps you will be able to help his sister discover the wonderful world inside a book…

Our brand new summer event takes inspiration from traditional seaside holidays in the UK – we’re bringing the Yorkshire coast to Lotherton all summer long.

Jump into our super sand pit, hop on a tractor tour, have a go at our giant garden games and wash it all down with a trip to the beach hut café.

We’ll have live music on selected days, family activities throughout the holidays, and special event days, including:

Outdoor theatre: The Secret Garden (5 Aug)

Vintage Weekend (12 & 13 Aug)

Outdoor theatre: The Tempest (20 Aug)

The Lotherton Summer Holiday event and Vintage Weekend is included in general entry but pre-booking is recommended as we expect these to be popular.

Outdoor theatre productions are hosted by theatre companies and you need to purchase tickets separately to attend.
