Things to do/see: Stump Cross Caverns offer a series of naturally formed caverns with a visitor centre which includes information about the caves and the remains of its past inhabitants – including a wolverine! Tea rooms, garden seating area and gift shop are also on site as well as a fairy door hunt.

Things to do/see: Ride a steam train! Check their calendar to see which trains are running – some may be a regular train ride others may be dining trains (breakfast or afternoon tea) Wait for the train in the Embsay Station Coffee Shop or the Bolton Abbey Station Tea Room and sample their homemade cakes. It takes about 15-20 minutes to travel between the two stations. At the stations, the train usually waits for about 15 -20 minutes while the engine runs round the train for the return journey. The whole (return) journey takes approximately 1 hour.

Things to do/see: Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds is a national museum which displays the National Collection of Arms and Armour.

Dine at Billy Bobs all-American diner and you can visit the playbarn afterwards (in the Summer the barn is only open to those who have eaten meals in the diner). So tuck into burgers, hotdogs, pulled pork and more and then head over to the straw-covered playbarn so the kids can work off their energy.

Things to do/see: The Deep is an award-winning aquarium that is home to almost 3,500 fish including green sawfish, sharks and tropical fish. Not forgetting an array of invertebrates, amphibians, turtles and a colony of Gentoo penguins!
